German Alumni Association

The German Alumni Association Kuala Lumpur (GAAKL)

The German Alumni Association  was launched on February 20, 2004 by the German Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur. The former Malaysian Minister of Education, Y.B. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Musa bin Mohamad has become the honorary patron of the Association.

The German Alumnis are playing an important role in the cooperation between Malaysia and Germany. It is their aim to share their German experience in business, trade, education, training and culture, and to contribute to the economic development of Malaysia through the dissemination of new concepts in science, technology and management techniques, and to provide assistance and re-orientation for those who have studied and undergone training in Germany or to support them with their professional development.

The Alumni Association has already participated in various cultural events and projects which were organized by the German Embassy or by the Goethe-Institute Kuala Lumpur; it has expressed an interest to make use of their German language competency, and is planning their first management seminars in cooperation with the German-Malaysian Institute. 

Individuals as well as corporate organizations are invited to become members of the German Alumni Association and to share their immediate access to German sources which are not accessible to any ‘outsiders’ in such a direct and flexible way: The Alumni Association can help find the right German business channels and mediate for help in any question about studying in Germany, scholarship programmes for Malaysians or training opportunities in Germany! 

The German Alumni Association is a social group which is open to suggestions from their members with regards to seminars, conferences, dinners, entertainment, excursions, exhibitions, student competitions – anything that will be useful to other members as well.
