German Basketball Star Dirk Nowitzki in Malaysia

Dirk Nowitzki, the world famous German basketball player, was recently on holiday in Malaysia as guest of the German Ambassador. Nowitzki, key player for the Dallas Mavericks, first European to be elected NBA's Most Valuable Player in 2007, represented Germany at the Bejing Olympics as well as in numerous national games.

During his journey through Malaysia with his coach Holger Geschwindner, Dirk Nowitzki, who has a keen interest in wildlife and conservation issues, visited the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabiliation Centre in Sabah and the Kuala Padang Elephant Sanctuary in Pahang.
He also took some time off to drop by the Embassy to get first hand information on the relationship between Malaysia and Germany - and of course to pose for photos and sign autographs.
