First Longhouse in Malaysia with German Solar Power System

German Ambassador, Dr. Guenter Gruber, was very pleased to be able to participate in the handing over ceremony of the newly installed solar power station to the people of Rumah Panjang Ringkai, Kerapa Spak, Betong, located in the remote interiors of Sarawak.
German based solar company IBC Solar Teknik Sdn Bhd and Carbon Capital Corporation Sdn Bhd had installed the RM 4,5 million system, which provides about 20 KW of green renewable electricity.
Also present at the ceremony were IBC Solar AG Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Udo Mohrstedt, Sarawak Chief Minister, YAB Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and other high ranking VIPs.
The Chief Minister announced that more solar power system installations are to follow under the Malaysian Federal Governments allocation of RM 200 million for alternative energy schemes in Sarawak.
