Donation for the Myanmar Refugee Children's School
The German Ambassador, Dr. Guenter Gruber, paid an official visit to a school for Myanmar Refugee Children in Cheras on 8 February 2010 to hand over a donation from the German Embassy's fund for small scale projects.
The school, which is operated by the Chin Women's and Children's Organisation (CWO), is funded and run by individual volunteers, teaching about 100 children ranging from 6-17 years in Literacy, English language, Mathematics, Science and Music in an effort to provide some basic education.
“Education is very important. So, study hard and have a little fun, too, making music“, said Ambassador Dr. Gruber, handing over two guitars for the children's music lessons, as all of them enjoy singing and dancing very much. Furthermore, a TV and DVD player as well as a Computer set were donated to make their education more viable.
The school is looking for volunteer teachers and instructors. The contact can be provided through this Embassy.
