A "Healthy" Cooperation - German Deputy Minister of Health visits Malaysia

The German Deputy Minister of Health, Mrs. Annette Widmann-Mauz, and a delegation of about 20 German business representatives from the healthcare sector, visited Malaysia from 2 - 4 May  2011.

The purpose of the visit was to intensify the business relations between the two countries in the healthcare sector and to lay the foundation for further cooperations and exchanges between the two governments.
Deputy Minister Mrs. Widmann-Mauz accompanied the delegation on a visit to the private Pantai hospital and to a briefing in the Ministry of Health regarding the latest developments in the medical sector.

She also opened a workshop at MIDA and learned about the Malaysian health sector from the viewpoint of Siemens Malaysia Medical Division.

The focal points of her visit were the discussions with Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and Deputy Minister for Economy and Trade, Dato' Muhkriz Mahathir.

A reception in the Residence of the German Ambassador allowed an exchange of views between representatives from the government and private sector.
